Devices & Design Group
Within the Devices & Design Group at Amazon (2020-2023), our team of 9 System Designers and Technologists created, maintained, and owned the design systems for all of Amazon’s devices. My focus was working with our interaction and CX designers to build or upgrade feature-rich, streamlined components that synched closely with their functionality in code, and maximized usability. My scope was mainly within the Alexa core, Fire TV, and Echo family design systems.
Echo Design System
The Echo device family included several devices, including Echo Spot, original Echo Show models, and all tablet-style Echo Show devices. My responsibilities for Echo included migrating and maintaining the compressive clock library, patterns, and templates, as well as OOBE setup, from Sketch to Figma for all Echo devices.
Some Echo devices included thousands of clock configuration permutations, with settings for clock-face styles, backgrounds, color theming, and more. The following is a sampling of the clock library and templates for Echo Spot, Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 10.
